Lynes Custom Cowboy Co. offers a 4 week course for anybody interested in learning the Art of Bit and Spur Making. this course will give you a good basic knowledge of handmaking fine quality bits, spurs, and buckles. Only one student is enrolled per course so maximum individual instruction can be given.

Course Outline

• Bit Making - materials used for maximum horse acceptability, proper construction and finishing for maximum horse comfort, proper welding techniques and how to customize bits (silver, etc.)
• Spur Making - materials used, proper construction and fitting, making rowels, and how to customize spurs
• Belt Buckle Making - materials used, shaping of buckle blank, soldering on buckle edge, making handcut letters and characters, assembling buckles, basic engraving and final finishing
• Basic Engraving - learn the basics of hand engraving your products
• Instruction in proper bitting procedures

Included in course fee:

• a) 4 items you have made (more than 4 you pay material cost only)
• b) Room and board for duration of course
• c) Certificate upon completion of course
